Alternator whine on 06 Camry

Hi, I have read some posts on here about whining alternators but I know the direct event that caused mine so I thought I could get some different advice.

I went to a MrCarWash and they sprayed an ocean right into my front grill. After the car wash my alternator started whining, especially when accelerating. It has got better since (2 weeks) but it’s still there, especially when the AC is on and engine is warm. How serious is it? And could it just be the alternator or something else based on the water?

Car is in good condition 06 camry 95k miles.
